More About me
Maybe you’re wondering how I’m qualified to help you. I’d love to tell you more about me, my background, and my approach to working with clients.
A mom of two, a businesswoman making sure employees were financially stable, a wife, a friend, a daughter of aging parents, volunteering in the classrooms, trying to stay healthy and ya’ know, live life. The pressure of it all kept building.
My perfectionism, which I always thought drove my ambition and helped me achieve my goals, was slowly grinding me down. I was always saying yes to taking on more, attempting to be the best at everything I commit to, and looking toward the next step of the next goal thinking that hustle culture was sustainable.
I kept this pace until I reached a place of near burnout. When I was stretched so thin and felt fear of saying no to anyone or anything I realized I’d lose everything that was most important to me, all that I valued, if I didn’t make a drastic change.
By recognizing how my perfectionism, lack of boundaries around my time, and people-pleasing took me further away from my values, what makes life meaningful and enjoyable for me, I was able to make change without losing my ambitious nature.
I found freedom from the burdensomeness of life and overcame burnout.
You can too!
My clinical background, thousands (and thousands!) of client hours, and my lived experience puts me in the ideal position to help other women find their freedom.
I was trained as a licensed clinical psychologist. Really, most of my training was to be a hospitalist. Working with clients on an in-patient basis. I was completing my post-doctoral residency when I had my first daughter - and everything changed overnight.
I mean that 100% literally. I emailed my resignation at the job I secured following post-doc while still in the hospital and didn’t look back.
All it took was the first moment I laid eyes on my daughter for me to realize working 80+ hours a week and being the kind of mom (not to mention partner, friend, all around functioning human being) I wanted to be wouldn’t be possible.
I made a sudden and drastic shift into the world of private practice in 2015. By 2017 I had established my own group practice and went from a psychologist to a business owner managing employees all while the ink on my newly minted business license was still drying!
As I continued my work seeing clients in private practice, I found my niche - where I really excelled as a clinician, and what I truly loved to do - is working with ambitious women struggling to find balance in life—women who work hard but are often plagued by the unrelenting problem of perfectionism.
I saw reflected in my clients what I had experienced so much of my life.
Perfectionism is almost always coupled with:
Lack of consistent Boundaries
Lack of clarity around values
Lack of self-care
People Pleasing
Fear
My nearly two decades of working as a psychologist have provided me with incredible insight into how people think, understanding their barriers to change, and creating an action plan to get unstuck.
It is absolutely possible to change your life.
Your ambition is amazing. Your drive and willingness to work hard and commit to things have made you successful. It’s also created the perfect storm for burnout (and resentment and feeling underappreciated and overburdened).
Would you believe me if I told you all that ambition and your willingness to work hard will help you feel better and find your way to a more balanced life?
It’s true! Buckle up, we’re in for a life-changing ride!

I can help you face what’s not working and why. We can identify the patterns that got you here and that are keeping you stuck. We’ll face fears head on and learn to navigate things differently by taking things back down to basics - your values.
Build it back up
Once we know what’s working and what isn’t, you can rebuild in a mindful, intentional way.
I’ll help you create the contours and boundaries you need to let go of perfection once and for all and build a meaningful, sustainable life.
You don’t have to let go of all of that beautiful ambition that got you this far - but we can change where you put that enrgy to make it work for you!
Is coaching the same things as therapy?
Nope, it sure isn’t.
Therapy is meant to treat issues and concerns we wouldn’t call typical parts of life. These concerns are best treated with structured, science-based approaches. Coaching is to help people through stumbling blocks you’d consider a far more typical part of life.
You can learn more about the differences between therapy and coaching here in this blog I conveniently wrote about this exact topic. If you are looking for therapy, you can go check out this group of amazing therapists here!*
*Full disclosure, I’m the owner of this awesome therapy practice and am *super* biased ;)
